Gaining Weight Fast … and Building Muscle
If all your life you’ve been skinny no matter how many lunches you’ve had at that fast food joint around the corner, you have a metabolism rate women would envy. You have a body type that’s classified as an Ectomorph, where no matter how much you eat, you aren’t gaining weight fast.
But if you’re a guy, then it’s a whole other story. You’ve probably been called skinny, geeky by your friends and might have been considered more for the towel boy role than the quarterback. Although women have different tastes in choosing their Mr. Right, thin guys often don’t score high on getting second looks from the opposite sex.
Hardgainer
Hitting the gym the next day and lifting weights isn’t the solution. Before you start working on those weights with a vengeance, consult first with your fitness instructor. You will probably hear them say you’re a ‘hardgainer,’ and it would take you twice the effort gaining weight fast. This doesn’t mean that your dreams of getting those nice pecs and six-pack abs are a waste of time. It just means that aside from choosing your exercise regimen, it’s important that you have to plan your diet, not to lose weight, but to gain the right amount of muscle tissue. The key here is to load up on the right sources of carbohydrates, protein and other nutrients in your daily food intake.
Bulk up!
Experts in the body building field will tell you that you need more weight so you’d have more muscle. And with more muscle, you’ve got more tissue to shape and mold to reach that body women will go ga-ga over. There are so much research, information and studies going into weight gain, there are a number of solutions out there that are tried and tested. The more popular plan is to eat 1-1.5 grams of protein rich food for every pound you want to gain. So if you want to reach 200 lbs, then you’d need to eat 200-250 grams of protein rich food for gaining weight fast.
Do it right
Having a solid nutrition program and planning out your daily intake go hand in hand with gaining weight fast and getting the body form of your dreams. Load up on calories from protein from white meats (turkey and chicken breast is always the choice), nuts. Don’t make a big departure from your original eating habits though. Introduce a gradual change in your daily diet. Always consult your local physician if you feel that something’s wrong.
Like people who need to lose fat, a lot of hard work and planning also goes into gaining weight. This doesn’t mean that you should start binging on ice cream or pizza or hitting the pubs nightly. Gaining the proper weight means doing it the, right way, the healthy way.
